It appears to be a curse. At first it appeared to be a bloody nose, but then other wounds began to appear. I count at least a half-dozen cuts of various sizes, puncture wounds, a potentially sprained ankle, and quite possibly a concussion, among other things. Broken bones are also a distinct possibility, but I haven't attempted to ascertain that yet.
