☤ twenty-six

well, why not.

if you know something good is bound to end badly, is it still worth beginning? when does happiness outweigh the risk, the loss?

I've seen patients who don't start living until they get their terminal diagnosis.

I'm a doctor.

Right, so their relatives should drop them because watching them die is going to suck.

It happens. I'm not in favour.

I'm not the doctor you should be asking.

I think you'd have to be crazy to walk into a situation asking to get hurt. You get a dog knowing you'll outlive it, not a partner. The best thing you could do for yourself is walk away. Thing with love is it's the point where you stop doing what's best for yourself.

You don't. There isn't logic to losing people. Doesn't matter if it blindsides you or you wait years expecting it. There isn't an easy option.

I wouldn't walk away.

No. I just wouldn't walk away.

If someone I love is dying, my happiness matters a lot less than theirs does. I don't want to not be there.

Yeah, people who die of massive heart attacks are all me me me. They'd be more selfish if they didn't tell anyone.

I don't think a different diagnosis disproves my point.

That would depend on the situation. If they're going to run off with the mailman it's less likely.

Maybe, maybe not. How much do you love them?
