It's a hypothetical; take it how you will. Having someone and losing them after, permanently, almost definitely. Would you do it, knowingly?

It can be but it doesn't have to be. My mother and father passed when I was very young. I would rather have my handful of memories than nothing at all if they had passed while I was even younger.
