[When the feed fades in Cameron is looking down at whatever she's doing, and it's not clear whether or not this is an intentional post. After a moment her current occupation becomes obvious; she's applying a series of band-aids to her fingers.

Cameron looks up.]

Unsurprisingly, the City once again upholds ridiculous superstitions. I'd advise everyone to be particularly cautious today.

[As happens so often, Chase is replying to things while obviously on the move. She's probably seen him around the clinic already today, though just now he doesn't sound too pressingly engaged. This has the tone of wanting to stop for a chat.]

I'd advise you to stop going through House's mail. Papercuts?

The batteries in the remote were dead. I broke a nail changing the channel on the set, and there was nothing on anyway.

Do you think you could explain the particular superstition this "curse" is based off of? Many people here seem to be familiar with it, but I'm not even familiar with the calendar system used here.

I can understand how it could be confusing, if you're coming from a significantly different culture. Many of the curses appear to be related to significant dates on the Earth calendar-- often, though not always, holidays celebrated in or particular to the United States. There's a certain amount of superstition stating that when the thirteenth of a month falls on a Friday, as it does today, it will cause inordinate bad luck. It's related to a more general phenomenon of triskaidekaphobia-- essentially the belief that the number 13 is itself unlucky.

I see. I'm used to an entirely different set of superstitions so I suppose I can expect to be confused often.

Well, it's possible that the curses might eventually reference your own world in some way, but by and large you're right.

Definitely. The more one attempts to do, the more chances there are for the curse to affect probability.
