I've grown rather used to it. Nice to meet you, Allison.
Yeah, I know him. The party pooper who has a thing for Martha Stewart.

Still, I imagine it makes for some confusion. It's nice to meet you again.
He always makes a strong first impression, if nothing else.

Likewise.
Well, the first sentence he said to me
did
contain the words "skin cancer".

Implying you were in danger of developing it?

No, implying that I'm throwing a gala luncheon with the intention of making my guests catch cancer.

If it's any consolation, by House's standards that isn't outrageous.

I wouldn't go that far, but... He can certainly be-- jarring. I assure you, he's an excellent doctor.

I'd hate to be under his care if I'm dying from skin cancer.

If you knew you were dying of skin cancer, you wouldn't need to see him. He's a diagnostician.

So he's the one handing out diagnostics of rare and often incurable diseases?

Frequently, but not necessarily. Dr. House specializes in solving cases no one else can-- it isn't always a matter of the rarity of the disease. Sometimes it's an unusual presentation, or a result of factors other doctors didn't consider.
