Has anyone ever seen a naturally occurring medical condition present as a result of a curse?

I've seen infections spread by curse-induced vectors, but that's not entirely the same thing.

[ooc; fgfdg please forgive me + pretend this was earlier? Cameron is power-switched with Claire, and at the time of posting she thinks she has CIPA for the day. By the time she replies to comments she maaaay have noticed that's not quite the case :3]

And it didn't hurt.

Did you exercise this morning? Did you sweat?

Because it's part of the diagnosis.

Because, if I woke up on one of these weekends unable to feel pain, I wouldn't automatically assume I was sick.

...Any chance you'd test a theory?

You've made it clear you're not curious at all, so, yes.

The simplest answer is usually the right one. Occam's Razor. If you woke up with a... 'superpower', would you need to ask the network if it had ever happened before?

I was suggesting a small needle stick. But if you want to try lifting cars, let me come over with a camera first.

In fact.

...Hey.

[He's been on his best behaviour in the face of it. Almost relentlessly agreeable.]

It's so hard to tell without visual cues. I wasn't kidding about the needle.

[He sits back a little and lets it be obvious that he knows he has a touch of the geek about him, and that House would be mocking him as they speak.]

Comic books. If the lack of pain puts you at risk of hurting yourself, it's an illness. If you can heal from it, it's a superpower.

I'm suggesting you scratch the back of your hand with a sterilised needle, it's hardly going to look like a cry for help.

Do you know how many people here are from comic books?

It's relevant when you're implying that comic book reasoning is any less rational than yours or mine.

[He sighs, though, and glances down. Because if he makes a specific reference it could shut Cameron down altogether, but if he doesn't, this is a possibility wasted.]

I have a patient with a healing factor. I've been trying to establish why they can't feel pain, to see if there's a way of reversing it. In two years, I haven't got far enough.

[Well now she's taken a step ahead of him, probably without meaning to.]

I'd expect they'd tell me... you think it could be some kind of trade?

I've had that chance before. I haven't had the chance to observe anyone else with the... condition.

[He rests his chin on his hand, half resigned to letting this go.]

Aren't you interested at all?

What's wrong with satisfying my curiosity?

I have a patient. That's who I'm thinking about. Attractive as the inside of your head is bound to be, I haven't been sitting here waiting for excuses to get under your skin.
