[ACCIDENTAL VIDEO]

[Tilt your head; the camera's on its side, a blurry expanse of countertop framing one edge of a well-kept kitchen. Cameron's, if you'd have reason to recognize it. After a moment the faint hissing in the background becomes a whistle, steam pouring out the spout of a teakettle.

The picture blurs and refocuses as a man comes into the picture, wearing a thankfully far-too long t-shirt over a tight-stretched pair of extremely feminine pajama pants. He-- or really, of course, she, if you hadn't figured-- pours the water into a waiting mug, and stands waiting a moment, palms on the corner of the counter, for the tea to steep.

Finally Cameron adds a half-spoon of sugar, and takes the tea back off camera. You might catch a deep, long-suffering sigh in the background noise.

The image stays on the empty kitchen until the recording times out.]

Cinna's.

[Angela says that as casual as casual can be, assuming Cameron knows who the guy is and who he is to her, as she walks back into the kitchen and begins taking out bagels and assortment toppings from the first bag she brought in.]

Cinna.

[The name doesn't mean anything to her, but well she can make an educated guess. Cameron heads for the bedroom with the borrowed clothes, comes out a few minutes later in her ill-fitting (but better fitting) loaner duds.]

I should take measurements and keep something in the closet for next time, I guess. [The sarcasm is a sign that she's actually a little less tense now.] In any case, it's good to see you, Angela. How have things been?

[Cameron's sarcastic suggestion is an actual idea Angela throws into the back of her mind to ask Cinna about later. Right now, she's busy chewing on a hunk of raisin bagel tops with far too much cream cheese.]

Same old, same old. Making sure Maria stays fed, washed, and clothed. What about you?

[Cameron helps herself to half a plain bagel and contemplates the cream cheese a moment before decisively smoothing a knife-ful onto the bread.]

Making sure the cat stays fed and happy. And work, of course. Nothing exciting, which is probably for the best.

[Angela nods politely as she continues chewing, fiddling with the lid of her coffee cup. This politeness lasts all of 2.5 seconds.]

You're bored as hell like I am, aren't you?

[Don't get her wrong; Angela loves Maria and the animals, but she's been in one place for too long. She can't take much more of it.]

[She laughs.]

It's not as bad as you think. I've been working on some research projects, actually. It's nice to have something that actually requires more of my specialty than the usual patch-up work we do most of the time at the hospital, outside of curses.

[And it's a nice opportunity to spend time with a gentleman who isn't House or Chase or Wilson, but you can bet she'd take that comment to her grave.]

[This side of science isn't really Angela's forte, but if it interests Cameron, it interests her too.]

[She shrugs, the movement seeming a little exaggerated on too-large shoulders.] Mainly the properties of a disease that doesn't exist in my world. Trying to isolate and synthesize a remedy.

[There's a pause for more chewing and a sip of coffee that she jacked from Cameron's pot.]

What disease is it?

[Hey, the coffee is for sharing. As long as you don't mind her exotic blends.]

It's... honestly, I'm not sure how much I should be sharing, it's not entirely my project.

[Angela shrugs both at not minding the exotic blend--hey, those are her thing--and Cameron not spilling the beans about her side work.]

Well, if it's confidential, it's confidential. Don't let me squeeze it out of you.

Sorry, I know how crazy that must sound. It's just... complicated.
