[The camera shakes a little, coming in and out of focus as she trains it on the bottom of a door. Small, pale tendrils are starting to creep through underneath it. The picture is jostled again as one foot stomps down on the little feelers... When she moves back again they're gone, crushed into a thick, gelatinous paste on the tile floor. From the other side of the door comes a menacing, deep noise that almost sounds like...

Quacking, actually. It sounds like quacking.

Cameron sighs, sounding surprisingly not terrified.]

I think my leftovers are trying to kill me.

How you gonna get it in there? Vacuum's your best bet, suck the sucker up then put the vacuum in reverse.

It managed to corner me in the bathroom, I'd have to fight past it to get the vacuum. It doesn't seem to be any tougher than it was before it became animate, so far.

You don't do this damsel in distress thing too well.

[There is a light sigh behind those words.]

Noodle soup with mock duck is hardly the worst the City has to offer. Hold on...

[And there's kind of a long lapse, then a creak, then some commotion-- Cameron is finally ready to engage her noodly foe!]

[There's no immediate answer, just the sound of a battle picked up by the mic she's neglected to turn off. The door swings and pounds against the wall a few times, heavy breathing and occasional yelps from Cameron contrasting with the maniacal quacking of the former soup. Finally-- when all seems lost-- there is a porcelain slam and a resounding flush, and a moment later she picks the device back up.]

There. All taken care of.

[Um.]

[She clears her throat lightly.]

You think a bucket of coleslaw would've been a better challenge?

Imagine if this had fallen later in the month, we'd be battling frozen turkeys. Those could do some damage.

Well, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it did.

Look on the bright side. [The sarcasm is thick and drippy. I'm sure the City can come up with something novel.

I think it's the simple stuff you least expect you gotta watch out for.

Expecting the unexpected is a great strategy. Logically impossible, of course, but otherwise very effective.
